I am trying to be healthy. I am trying to get fit. But gas prices made my plan go to SHIT!
Since before Christmas break I have been trying to make healthier choices. The exercising part is easy all I have to do is park a mile away from class so I end up walking about 4 miles a day. I have also been doing p90x, though not as faithfully as I wish, and doing my own little set of stairs at the parking garage.
NOW.
Gas prices have gone up 30 cents in the last week. This is really killing my healthy choice plan. It now costs 50 to fill my tank up which I have to fill every 2 weeks. I would like to take public transit more often, I like the idea of being more green, though its hard to do things like that when the bus is 45 mins late and not very reliable. Anyway, gas going up also means that it is harder to buy food since school > food. I can’t be healthy if I am not eating though.
I know everyone is into the whole “there are all shapes and sizes” and “love your body no matter what” whatever kind of slogans are out there but really you shouldn’t love your body if your 50 pounds over weight, it really is a serious health risk. I believe that the body campaigns are deeper than that. I believe that they try to get you to love your body as it is now so you can change it for the better. But people don’t think like I do.
Also, because I do not get enough hours at work I am NOT ELIGIBLE for food stamps, which would make my entire year. I know exactly what I would buy if I had them too. Odwalla would be at the top of my list, their ‘naked’ drinks are so tasty. But no, it should be amazing to them that I even have a job and also go to school. People complain about there not being enough jobs out there when in reality there is, they just won’t take themselves out of their comfort zone and do something that is ‘hard’ and bitch about it all the time then quit… whew went off topic..
I’m done blabbering after this conclusion. I’m pretty sure I hit eating healthy, exercise, gas prices, jobs, and school topics. Those are all connected in a sick and twisted way.
